MEET THE GWE TEAM – SARAH BEAUCHAMP

In the dynamic world of green energy, where companies strive to make a lasting impact on the planet, the role of an HR manager is pivotal in shaping the workforce and preserving the values that underpin their mission. At GWE, Sarah Beauchamp , our HR Manager, stands at the forefront of this endeavour. Since day one, Sarah has already made her mark by aligning her personal values with the company’s mission, fostering a culture of growth and sustainability. In this exclusive interview, we sit down with Sarah to gain insight into her role at GWE, her journey into the green energy sector, and how her daily life resonates with the company’s commitment to a greener future.

1) Can you tell us a bit about your role at GWE?

My role is to support the business to achieve its goals by overseeing recruitment, retention, engagement and employee relations whilst adhering to legislation to deliver the best possible experience for our customers

2) How long have you been working at GWE, and what drew you to the company?

I have been at GWE for nearly 8 months.  I was drawn to GWE as I wanted to be a part of its growth and it was a small business whose values were in line with that of my own.

3) Can you walk us through a typical day in your role at GWE?

Where do I start? Is there such a thing as a typical day in HR? We wear many different hats and it can be as varied as basic administration to strategic planning with the board of directors to supporting team members whilst in the workplace. I love the variety my role provides.

4) What inspired you to pursue a career in renewable energy, and how does GWE align with your personal values?

Living in such a green city, it’s hard not to get involved in recycling and other sustainable initiatives and looking after the place where we live.

5) What sets GWE apart from other renewable energy companies in the industry?

Our Values are family values that are embedded in everything we do.  There’s a lot of pride that goes into everything that is done here at GWE.

6) What has been your highlight of working at GWE so far?

There have been many memorable moments but I think the highlight so far is the project managing the site move. Moving to larger premises is an exciting time for all of us here at GWE, but it is very rewarding seeing all departments work together to do what we need to do.

7) If you could switch jobs with someone else in the company for a day, who would it be and why?

I’d love to have the knowledge to work in the technical department.

8) What act of sustainability do you implement in your daily life?

It’s probably an annoying habit but I always turn sockets off at home, my car is a mild hybrid and I recycle as much as possible.
